Bringing the Intended Light into Real Spaces

From 27 to 30 October 2026, Yuanfeng Lighting exhibited at the Hong Kong International Lighting Fair (Autumn Edition). Under the theme “Real Spaces. Predictable Light.”, the presentation brought luminaires, optics and structure into a shared focus, exploring how the intended lighting effect can carry through into real conditions of use.
A red wall of repeated brand motifs, white display stands and the luminaires arranged between them defined the booth. As visitors approached, attention shifted from the space to the products, and then to the thinking behind their design.
A Vertical 6° Beam from a 35° Sloping Ceiling
Recessed into a ceiling inclined at 35°, the luminaire projects a narrow 6° beam with its axis directed vertically downward. The demonstration brings the mounting angle, beam angle and direction of projection together in one setting.

From Space to Product
Transparent display cases revealed the relationship between luminaire trims, bodies and heat sinks. Along the walls, product samples were presented beneath introductions to their respective series. Seen at close range, both the external forms and the internal structures became tangible.
The GUAN, VON, QON, TRACKO and FANGSHAO series addressed different application needs, reflecting Yuanfeng’s approach to optics, adjustment and installation. How modules fit together, how a luminaire is adjusted and how it can be maintained all form part of the lighting design process.

Viewing Under Real Conditions
Every luminaire ultimately becomes part of a particular architectural space. Variations in spatial dimensions, installation positions and aiming angles can influence the final lighting effect.
Yuanfeng’s ongoing exploration of Fault-Tolerant Optics addresses these variables. By considering optical and structural design together, the approach aims to reduce the effects of changing site conditions and a degree of installation deviation, helping the intended visual result translate more consistently into practice.
Preserving natural textures, creating smooth transitions between light and shade, and maintaining visual consistency across different viewpoints guide this research. Predictable results are, in turn, connected to lasting visual comfort.

Conversations Around the Samples
At the display stands, product introductions developed into more detailed conversations. Visitors looked through information, examined luminaires and components, and spoke directly with the Yuanfeng team. These exchanges brought product structures, configurations and methods of use into focus.
The wall displays on design-led manufacturing and ORLAB, Yuanfeng’s Optical Research Lab, extended the presentation into research and production. From tooling design and material forming to precision machining and product verification, each stage helps translate design requirements into the finished product.

Beyond the Exhibition
Conversations and photographs recorded the encounters that shaped Yuanfeng’s time in Hong Kong. We thank everyone who visited the booth and joined us in discussing light and space.
From the invitation to rediscover existing details at GILE to “Real Spaces. Predictable Light.” in Hong Kong, Yuanfeng continues to explore form, material and the experience of seeing. An encounter at an exhibition connects, ultimately, to the daily life of a space. Our research into optics and products will continue to be guided by real application needs.
