Privacy Policy
We collect as little data as possible and, where practical, keep website-operation data on our own servers.

1. Scope
This policy applies to www.yoflighting.com, its pages, the online 2026 catalogue, the downloads area and first-party anonymous visitor analytics. The admin interface is available to authorized administrators only and is not intended for general visitors.
2. Visitor data we collect
We use first-party anonymous visitor analytics rather than Google Analytics, Meta Pixel or similar third-party analytics or advertising trackers. When a page is opened, we may record its path and title, referring page, interface language, viewport size and User-Agent to understand views, approximate unique visitors, device compatibility and site performance.
IP addresses:The server receives a visitor’s IP address as part of a normal network connection. The analytics software immediately applies a one-way HMAC hash using a private site key. The original IP address is not stored in the analytics database or files and is not displayed in the analytics dashboard. The hash is used only to estimate unique visitors and sessions.
Country and regional statistics:To compile visitor-origin summaries by country and region, the server first uses geographic information provided by a CDN or reverse proxy where available. Otherwise, it may perform a one-time GeoIP lookup for the current IP address and save only a country code, country or regional name, city and approximate coordinates for a heatmap. The original IP is still not retained. These results are used for aggregated audience analysis, not precise identification.
Analytics data is used only for website operations, troubleshooting, content improvement and aggregate reporting, not for ad targeting, cross-site tracking, selling audience profiles or creating records that directly identify people.
3. Cookies, local storage and session storage
Our first-party visitor analytics does not use cookies.Our analytics scripts do not write to localStorage or cookies to identify visitors.
To remember a visitor’s selected Chinese or English interface, the site stores a language preference in the browser’s localStorage. This is a local interface setting, not an advertising or profiling identifier. Page transition effects may temporarily store transition state in sessionStorage for visual presentation, which expires with the browser session.
Visitors can clear these local settings by deleting this site’s browser data; the site remains usable afterwards.
4. Social media and external links
The website links to Xiaohongshu, Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and other third parties. Social icons use local SVG assets; simply loading a page does not embed trackers from these platforms.
Only when visitors actively click through will they enter the respective third-party platform’s environment.Those platforms may use cookies, record IP addresses or device details and process account data under their own privacy policies. We do not control their data processing, cookies, cross-border transfers or account practices. Visitors should consult the relevant platform’s privacy policy before continuing.
5. Downloads, online catalogue and internal links
The online catalogue, product documentation, installation manuals, CAD drawings, datasheets and photometric files can be browsed or downloaded without registering a general user account. Ordinary web access logs may nevertheless be generated by the server; if a host stores such logs by default, their retention is also governed by the host’s infrastructure policies.
6. Storage, retention and security
First-party anonymous analytics data is stored in a private server directory outside the public website root. SQLite is preferred; if the hosting environment does not support SQLite, a permission-restricted JSONL file in the same private directory is used instead. Analytics administration requires password authentication and is not publicly accessible.
The currently configured maximum retention period is approximately 730 days; older records are purged according to the configured schedule. We apply reasonable access controls, server permissions and data minimization, but no network or server can guarantee absolute security.
7. Data sharing and sale
We do not sell anonymous analytics data or share our analytics database with social networks for third-party ad targeting. Hosting providers, network operators and other infrastructure services may process technical data needed to run the website. If server-side GeoIP fallback is enabled, the GeoIP provider receives the current IP for the lookup, but not visitors’ names, emails, accounts or our analytics database. This fallback may be disabled in server configuration.
8. Visitor choices and rights
Visitors may submit reasonable inquiries or requests concerning server logs or other related data processing, subject to applicable law. Whether individual records can be identified or handled depends on the data actually retained in the hosting environment and the applicable legal requirements.
9. Children
This website is intended primarily for lighting designers, architects, businesses, procurement teams and industry customers; it is not designed specifically for children. We do not actively solicit personal details from minors.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our website, deployment or legal requirements change. Material changes will be reflected in the page and its effective date. Visitors can access the current policy from the website footer at any time.
Email newsletter subscriptions
Subscription is optional. We record your email address, interface language, and request, confirmation and unsubscribe times. We send newsletters only after you confirm your subscription. Confirmation messages and newsletters are delivered through Alibaba Cloud DirectMail, which processes the recipient address, message content and necessary delivery records. The mailing list is stored separately on our server; unconfirmed or unsubscribed addresses are excluded from future newsletter tasks. You can stop receiving updates using the unsubscribe link in each email, or contact Info@yoflighting.com about your subscription record.

2. Traffic data we collect
We use self-hosted anonymous traffic analytics and do not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or comparable third-party advertising analytics. When a page is viewed, the site may record the page path, page title, referrer, page language, viewport size, and User-Agent to understand page views, approximate unique visitors, compatibility, and site performance.
IP addresses: as part of normal Internet communication, the server receives the visitor's IP address. The analytics program immediately transforms it with an irreversible HMAC using a private site secret. The raw IP address is not written to the analytics database or analytics files and is not shown in the admin dashboard. The resulting hash is used only to approximate unique visitors and sessions.
Country / region analytics: to produce aggregate customer-origin reporting, the server first uses Geo country/region headers supplied by a CDN or reverse proxy when available. If the deployment does not provide such headers, the server may make a one-time GeoIP lookup for the current request IP and store only the resulting country code, country/region, city and approximate coordinates used by the heat map. The raw IP is still not written to our analytics database or analytics files. GeoIP results are used for aggregate audience analysis, not precise individual location tracking.
Analytics are used for site operations, troubleshooting, content improvement, and aggregate reporting. They are not used for behavioural advertising, cross-site tracking, sale of user profiles, or building directly identifiable visitor profiles.
3. Cookies, local storage and session storage
Our self-hosted analytics do not use cookies. The analytics script also does not write visitor identifiers to localStorage or cookies.
To remember a visitor's selected Chinese or English interface, the website stores a language preference in browser localStorage. This is an interface preference and is not used for advertising or profiling. Page-transition animations temporarily use sessionStorage to remember navigation direction and transition state; that data exists only for interaction continuity and expires with the browser session.
Visitors may clear browser site data at any time. Doing so does not prevent access to the site's core content.
4. Social media and external links
The website contains links to Xiaohongshu, Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and other external services. Social icons are rendered with local SVG assets, so simply loading our page does not itself load embedded tracking resources from those social platforms.
Only after a visitor actively clicks an external link and leaves this website does the visitor enter the third party's environment. That platform may set cookies or process IP addresses, device data, account status, or other information under its own privacy policy. We do not control third-party cookies, processing, international transfers, or account policies.
5. Downloads and online catalogue
Visitors do not need to create a public account to browse the online catalogue or download installation instructions, technical drawings, product specifications, or photometric files. Normal web-server logs may still be generated by the hosting infrastructure; where the hosting provider keeps such logs, its infrastructure policies may also apply.

Anonymous analytics are stored in a private server directory outside the public web root, preferably in SQLite; where SQLite is unavailable, a permission-protected JSONL file in that same private directory is used. The analytics dashboard is password protected and is not publicly accessible.
The current analytics configuration uses a maximum retention period of approximately 730 days and periodically removes expired analytics records. We apply reasonable access controls, server permissions, and data-minimisation practices, but no Internet transmission or server can be guaranteed to be absolutely secure.
7. Sharing and sale of data
We do not sell our self-hosted anonymous analytics data and do not intentionally share that analytics database with social platforms for third-party advertising. Hosting providers, network operators, or infrastructure vendors may process necessary technical data to provide hosting and connectivity. If the server-side GeoIP fallback is enabled, the GeoIP provider receives the current IP only for geographic resolution; we do not send it visitor names, email addresses, accounts, or our analytics database. This fallback can be disabled in the server configuration.
8. Visitor choices and rights
Subject to applicable law, visitors may ask reasonable questions or make requests regarding server logs or other potentially held data. Whether a particular record can be identified or handled depends on the data actually retained by the deployment.
9. Children
This website is primarily intended for lighting, architecture, commercial-space, procurement, and industry audiences and is not designed specifically for children. We do not intentionally request personal information from children.
